If you are a new to Yoga or the Iyengar method it is best to start with the Beginners Course. This helps to create a firm foundation and give you the experience and confidence to then move on to our more challenging classes and the Live online classes with our certified yoga teacher Melissa Hooton.
The Beginners Course is located on the Basic Membership, it is divided into 10 Lessons, which you can follow at your own pace and repeat as many times as you wish. Each lesson contains a 1 hour class, a 20 -30 minute revision class and some reading material to complete before moving on to the next lesson.
During the classes your teacher Mel will guide you progressively through a range of standing, twisting, seated poses, and inversions (asanas) to learn the basic foundations of Iyengar Yoga. There will also be time for relaxation at the end of each class. When learning, repetition is very important, so once you have finished the course you may repeat it as many times as you please. We all learn and progress at different stages, so when you feel you have a basic understanding of everything that you have learnt in the course it is time to move on to some of our more challenging classes that we have for offer on the Basic mMembership. Or you may even wish to upgrade to the Full Membership where you can experience live online classes directly with Mel.
